Happy first birthday to "LesBavards du Nord", which first met during August, 2004!

Happy 6th birthday to "LesBavards", founded by Sally Lipscomb, which first met during August, 1999. Bravo!!
Our francophone dining groups have enjoyed success, in part, due to the publicity which has run in various local publications. Thank yous, "Merci", to the Calendar Editors of The Daily Herald, the numerous Pioneer Press weekly papers, the French Consulate LIAISON monthly, and the monthly NorthShore Magazine, and the various town Journals, to name a few.
Due to the popularity of these dining groups, word has spread, and we have received inquiries from other parts of the USA as to how to run a dining group. We now have a start-up packet put together for those interested in founding another group in their locality. Send your request to lesbavards@yahoo.com.
"LesBavards" is happy to report that a new volunteer has come forward to take over the reins from Lynnea Brand, who sent out the Monthly reminder-emails (and phoned the restaurant with the forecasted number of attendees). We have dubbed this person our Officière Administratif. Lynnea has been doing this, for our benefit, for over two years, and is turning over this one-hour-a-month responsibility to Gabrielle Benedetto. Attendance at the dinners is not necessary for carrying out the Reminder- emailings, if you would like to serve as Gabrielle's backup, we could use your help. Please send a note via lesbavards@yahoo.com.
Our request for a new volunteer to come forward to help share the task of emailing our monthly Press Releases, a helper for our current "Officier de Publicité", in the event they have to skip a month. It sounds official, but it really only takes 30 to 40 minutes mid-month to send out these Press Releases by email.
LesBavards business cards: We now have business cards, cartes d'affaires, that you can hand out to your future francophone acquaintances.... such as when you invite them to give our group a try. Let Sally or Janet know how many spare cards you would like to have for your wallet or purse.
